This private Ramayana trail tour in Sri Lanka takes a relaxed week to follow the epic across the island. You begin at the Shiva temples near Chilaw, see the cave temples of Dambulla and the hill capital of Kandy, then climb into the cool hills of Nuwara Eliya, the setting of Ashok Vatika. From Ella you continue south to Kataragama and the coast, finishing at Kelaniya near Colombo.

How is this different from the 5-day tour?
The 7-day trail adds Dambulla and Kandy, an evening at Kataragama and a slower pace, with fewer long drives.
Can we get vegetarian or Indian food?
Yes. We choose hotels and stops where vegetarian and Indian meals are easy to find.
What should we wear at the temples?
Clothes that cover shoulders and knees, ideally light colours. Shoes are removed at every temple.
